Sheffield Wednesday teenager Liam Shaw has reportedly agreed a pre-contract with Celtic, which has left many Owls fans furious.

The 19-year-old has established himself in the senior side this season but is out of contract in the summer, meaning the Hoops are able to sign him on a pre-contract deal that will see him join them for minimal compensation at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.

According to Yorkshire Live, Shaw has agreed a pre-contract with Celtic, which could see Wednesday receive just £300,000 in compensation.

It is understood that the Owls have been in talks over a new deal with their academy product over the past few months but it seems he will be leaving the club in the summer.

A versatile player that is comfortable in both defence and midfield, Shaw made his debut last season but has started to establish himself properly this term.

The teenager has made 15 appearances in all competitions and shown in glimpses just what an exciting talent he is – with his assist in the FA Cup game against Exeter City a particular highlight.

Unsurprisingly, this fresh update concerning Shaw has left many Wednesday fans fuming – with some clearly sad to see him go and others turning on the club for their poor management of the situation.
