Sunderland striker Josh Maja took his tally to three goals in three matches this season with a well-taken strike against Scunthorpe United.

Maja got on the score sheet as Sunderland climbed up to 4th place in the League One table with a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe at The Stadium of Light.

Max Power opened the scoring in this game, with Chris Maguire putting the match beyond doubt before half-time after converting a Lynden Gooch cross.

But all eyes are on Maja at the moment, who has scored in each of his League One outings after staying at Sunderland beyond the end of the domestic transfer window.

The 19-year-old has taken advantage of the fact that Jerome Sinclair and Charlie Wyke are out injured, starring in a central striker role for the Black Cats at the start of this season.

He could even have had a second yesterday but he missed a great chance to make it 4-0 in the second half.

Nevertheless, the talented teenager still turned in an excellent performance and here are some of the best tweets about his display from Sunderland fans.
