Kyle Lafferty has enjoyed a varied career.
The Northern Ireland international has plied his trade in an array of countries, spanning from Italy to Denmark to Turkey – he now finds himself at League One side Sunderland.
The 6ft 4 striker joined the Black Cats on a six-month contract back in January and has since gone on to score two goals for the club, in 11 League One appearances so far.
Can you remember which Sunderland manager signed each of these 15 players? Have a go now!
His goals have not helped Sunderland get into the play-off spots though, with Phil Parkinson’s side currently just outside of it in seventh spot.
With Lafferty a currently 32 years old and with his contract expiring at the Stadium of Light this summer, the striker finds himself at a crossroads in his career.
The former Norwich City forward has found himself the centre of a debate amongst Mackems fans on social media, with Twitter account Black Cats HQ asking the following question: ‘Would you extend Kyle Lafferty’s contract at Sunderland this summer or get rid?’
When taking a look through the responses, it seemed the majority would like the club to secure a fresh agreement for the player to see him stay at the club….

Get rid, not good enough

Never looked completely fit. If he can get fit, and if he is sufficiently motivated, would be worth keeping.

New 1 year deal. We should be moving heaven and earth to shift Grigg and Wyke as soon as the window is open

Probably give him a deal as short as possible but in the back of my mind will we be bitten again 🤔
