Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing MK Dons forward, Chuks Aneke according to a report from TEAMtalk.

It is thought that MK Dons are keen to retain his services ahead of next season, and have offered him a new deal with the club as they prepare for life in League One.

The report also claims that Hull City, QPR, Barnsley, Wigan and Portsmouth are interested in signing Aneke, who fired MK Dons to promotion last season.

He netted 19 goals in all competitions and was their main attacking outlet as they returned to the third tier of English football.

Steve Bruce evidently sees Aneke as a player who could add something to the Sheffield Wednesday squad ahead of next season, although the Owls do already have a number of attacking options available to them.

If he was to sign for Bruce's side, then he would have to compete with the likes of Lucas Joao, Fernando Forestieri, Steven Fletcher and Atdhe Nuhui for a starting spot at Hillsborough.

But would Aneke be a good signing for the Owls?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson:

"No not for me.

"Aneke grabbed a few goals last season, but in crucial games he went missing and he was too hit and miss.

"He wanted out at the beginning of the season and only got firing once he realised he wasn't going anywhere.

"He's not Championship quality I'm afraid and he's no better than what they've had recently."

George Harbey:

"Aneke is a big, strong powerhouse who ripped up League Two last season, but I'm not sure he's cut out for Championship football just yet.

"Technically, he leaves a lot to be desired, and even though he contributed to plenty of goals for MK Dons last season, I don't think he would fit into Steve Bruce's style of play.

"I think there are definitely better options out there for the Owls."

Jacob Potter:

"It would be a real gamble.

"Aneke impressed me for the MK Dons last season, but a step up to the Championship could be too much for the former Arsenal striker.

"The Owls already have better options in attack, and I would be stunned if he was able to force his way into the starting XI ahead of what Bruce already has available to him.

"I wouldn't be taking the chance on signing him if I was Bruce."
