Norwich City are set to be handed a significant boost in their bid to return to the Premier League.

The Telegraph is reporting that Daniel Farke is in advanced talks over agreeing on a new two-and-a-half-year deal to remain at Carrow Road.

The 42-year-old’s current terms expire in June, but the Canaries and Farke are said to be close to putting pen-to-paper after guiding the club to the top of the table.

Along with the news of Farke’s imminent extension, the Canaries are also close to tying down his assistant, Edmund Reimer, to a new deal, too.

Norwich have been in talks with the advisors of the manager since the end of last year, according to the Telegraph, with a positive outcome expected in the coming days.

This season is getting better and better for Norwich with everything going from strength to strength on the pitch, and now off it.

With that said, we asked our team of FLW writers if they thought this could well be the Canaries’ signing of the season?

Here’s what they had to say on the matter.

Gary Hutchinson

“That would be a bold statement.

“They did sign Pukki, a player who has more or less revolutionised their attack.

“Tying Farke down is good now, but look at Jokanovic.

“You’re only good for a short while as a manager.”

Jay Taylor

“Farke has masterminded their ascent up the league, and getting him tied up to a new deal is of utter importance.

“With news that terms are close to being agreed, it’s an immeasurable boost for the club heading into the home straight of the current campaign.

“It’s the most significant news they will receive all season, barring potential confirmation of promotion, should they achieve it.

“Under Farke, however, you would have every confidence he could deliver it.”

Jacob Potter

“The best signing they could make all season.

“Farke has been impressive this season, and I don't think Norwich supporters would have dreamt that he could lead them to the Premier League.

“He's sure to be a manager in demand in the near future, so it's a smart move by the Canaries to secure his long-term future to the club.”
