Wolves moved back to the top of the league after a hard-fought 2-0 win over Reading, with John Ruddy having a real mixed afternoon in goal.

The former England international has been excellent for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men since joining from Norwich in the summer, however he endured a very uncharacteristic sloppy start.

Within a minute he had made hard work of a fairly routing long-range John Swift strike that he fumbled onto the post, whilst a lazy clearance was deflected inches wide just five minutes later.

Yet, he improved dramatically as the game went on and the below tweet from @ChezRogers highlights just what an important save he made from Mo Barrow when the score was 1-0 to Wolves.

That save came with just under ten minutes to go and really did make the difference. He also followed it up with another point-blank save with his feet after the Royals piled on the pressure for an equaliser.

Minutes later Matt Doherty would seal the points for the Black Country side with a fine goal, but Wolves fans took to twitter to appreciate the save from John Ruddy.
