Middlesbrough ground out another dour draw yesterday, sharing a goalless point with Stoke City on Tony Pulis' return to his old club.

There was little to shout about for either side, perhaps Boro will be happier as the point sees them remain in third place, even though they've scored just four goals in their last six matches.

Whilst they're struggling going forward, as expected from a Tony Pulis side they are as solid as ever at the back. One of the players who stood out at the bet365 Stadium was on loan defender Danny Batth.

He's a Wolves player but has been deemed surplus to requirements at Molineux, but he's found a home at Boro and if the fans praise is anything to go by, he could be a key player for them.

They were on Twitter post match praising the centre back's performance, much of which came in response to his own tweet. He claimed that Boro were full of 'desire and hard work' but that they will keep working to improve.

That was met with unanimous praise for his personal display, which could well be the start of a mutual love-in with his adopted club's supporters.
