Nottingham Forest were handed their second consecutive Championship defeat of the season by Bournemouth yesterday but many fans have been raving about the performance of Philip Zinckernagel.

After starring in the EFL Cup win against Bradford City in midweek, the Watford loanee was handed his first league start in a Forest shirt at the City Ground yesterday and certainly didn't disappoint.

After David Brooks had put the Cherries ahead, the 26-year-old produced a moment of real quality to pull the hosts back level as his curling free-kick allowed Scott McKenna to head in.

Phillip Billing's second goal of the season put Scott Parker's side back in the lead and despite going down to 10 men after Brooks' red card, they were able to hold out to earn all three points.

Forest may have suffered a second defeat on the bounce in the Championship but the performance of Zinckernagel was certainly one of the positives.

On top of his assist, the winger made 10 crosses, was successful in five of his eight dribbles, won 10 of his 18 ground duels, made four tackles, and saw a curling strike tipped around the post late in the game (Sofascore).

The Dane certainly seems to have impressed the City Ground faithful, with many Forest fans taking to Twitter to voice their thoughts...
