League leaders Bristol City were held to a 2-2 draw by Barnsley this afternoon and many Robins fans have been heaping praise on the performance of Chris Martin.

A controversially awarded penalty allowed Cauley Woodrow to score an equaliser with the last kick of the game after goals from Jack Hunt and Tyreeq Bakinson helped City take control.

Michal Helik gave the Tykes the lead inside two minutes but two quickfire goals after half-time put Dean Holden's side into the lead, which was only surrendered due to a late penalty.

It was another impressive display from Martin, who joined as a free agent in the summer, and the towering striker added his fourth assist of the season at Oakwell today.

The 31-year-old did well to gather the ball in the opposition box before sliding it across to Hunt, who smashed it into the back of the net via a deflection.

Martin's arrival at Ashton Gate was met with something of a muted response but the forward has quickly become a key man in Holden's side – starting all of their last four Championship games.

Do Bristol City and Bristol Rovers have these 10 things in common?

Robins fans will likely feel they were robbed of a fifth consecutive victory today but the performance of the former Derby County striker appears to have left many of them impressed.
