Sheffield Wednesday picked up an impressive win at Birmingham City yesterday thanks to a Barry Bannan penalty.
Whilst Garry Monk’s men only won thanks to a single strike, they played very well at St. Andrew’s and limited the hosts to very few clear chances.
And, one player who stood out for the Owls was Massimo Luongo. The former QPR man delivered an all-action display against Blues, helping Wednesday control the game and he starred with his work-rate in helping win the ball back.
This is the latest strong performance for the 28-year-old, who has been one of the standout individuals for Wednesday this season as they look to fight back from the 12 point deduction they had to start the campaign with.
As you would expect, the fans were very quick to praise Luongo for his role in the win yesterday as they recognise the contribution he makes to the team.
Here we look at some of the reaction to his display…
Absolute class player. Tackles, passes and his positioning. Great buy.

He’s a good player. Liked him from the first few minutes I saw him play.

Proper under the radar player. Solid 7/8 out of 10 every time he plays

Mate at work who supports qpr said he was quality but that playing for oz broke him. I think we’re benefiting from him not travelling across the globe every 2 months.

I’ve said it since we bought him, has to be in the team every week. Struggled with initial injury but now showing his worth 👍👍
