Aston Villa have announced that they have agreed a deal with Egyptian company NSWE, who will provide 'significant investment' into the club.

Owner Tony Xia had been on the lookout for fresh investment to solve the club's awful financial situation that saw them served with a winding-up order by HMRC last month.

And, it has arrived, with the club confirming on their website that NSWE, owned by billionaire businessmen Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, will 'inject significant investment capital into the Club.'

The deal has meant that Xia is now the Co-Chairman and he will remain on the board at Villa Park.

Whilst that won't solve Villa's FFP issues, it should provide them with long-term stability and will remove any concerns about the future of the club.

Understandably, this news has gone down very well with supporters of the West Midlands club who had endured a very tough summer so far.
