Ipswich fans were celebrating today as skipper Luke Chambers penned a new deal.

With his contract due to expire at the end of this campaign, Ipswich have swooped to get him to commit his future to the club.

The defender is a fans' favourite at Portman Road and has played well over 200 games for the club since joining from Nottingham Forest in 2012.

After 47 games this season, the 31-year-old pledges his future to Ipswich Town by putting pen to paper on a new two year deal.

Luke Chambers was linked with a return to Nottingham Forest in January but Ipswich blocked that potential move and now he is due to stay with Ipswich Town until the summer of 2019.
