Ipswich fans were celebrating today as skipper Luke Chambers penned a new deal.

With his contract due to expire at the end of this campaign, Ipswich have swooped to get him to commit his future to the club.

The defender is a fans’ favourite at Portman Road and has played well over 200 games for the club since joining from Nottingham Forest in 2012.

After 47 games this season, the 31-year-old pledges his future to Ipswich Town by putting pen to paper on a new two year deal.

Luke Chambers was linked with a return to Nottingham Forest in January but Ipswich blocked that potential move and now he is due to stay with Ipswich Town until the summer of 2019.

Ipswich fans took to Twitter to express their delight at this news.

The Tractor Boys are pleased to commit their captain to a new deal amid rumours of a potential exit and here are a selection of the best responses.
