Reports emerged recently that West Bromwich Albion were willing to take £15 million for their star player Matheus Pereira following their relegation to the Championship - but it will take a lot more than that to prize the Brazilian away from The Hawthorns.

Pereira shone for the Baggies last season in the Premier League despite the club finishing in the bottom three, with the 25-year-old netting 11 times and also bagging six assists (Sofascore), and because of that he is understandably attracting Premier League interest.

The likes of Leicester City, West Ham and Leeds United have all been credited with an interest in the former Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder, but an update has emerged from the Midlands that may put potential suitors off.

According to the Express and Star, West Brom won't be letting Pereira go on the cheap and it definitely won't be for as little as the £15 million that has been reported by outlets.

Whilst top flight clubs in England and Germany are thought to be looking at making a move for Pereira, the Baggies will not budge on their valuation of him due to their apparent healthy financial state - that's despite the loss of Premier League television money this season.

As you can imagine, West Brom fans are happy that the club are for once taking a strong stance on something and it would be a major coup if they could keep Pereira around for the start of the campaign - pricing him out of a move though could potentially unsettle the player.
