Wolves remain fifth in the Championship table despite failing to win either of their past two league games, the latest a 0-0 draw at struggling Brentford.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men made a fast start with impressive victories over Middlesbrough, Derby County, and Hull City, but a 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff City stunted their progress, and they were unable to get back to winning ways at Griffin Park on Saturday.

However, they did pick up an excellent 2-0 win at Southampton in the second round of the Carabao Cup to further underline their credentials, and given the summer of transfer activity as well, the Molineux faithful are sure to be optimistic ahead of the remainder of the season.

Nonetheless, several incomings inevitably means that there will be departures, and one man seemingly heading for a Wolves exit is forward Nouha Dicko.

The 25-year-old has struggled with injury in recent years and has failed to start any of their first five Championship matches, although he did come off the bench to net in their 3-2 success at Hull earlier this month.

Yet it appears that his time at Molineux is at an end, as Leonid Slutsky’s Tigers are reportedly closing in on a move for the Mali international.

And news of Dicko’s imminent departure has stimulated quite a response from Wolves fans on Twitter, with many feeling that it is the right decision to let the 25-year-old leave the club…
