Leeds have struggled for silverware in recent times, but one man who hasn't failed to pick up an award is defender Pontus Jansson, after being voted Bristol Motors December PFA Championship Fans' Player of the Month. 

Leeds United have looked like a completely new outfit since Thomas Christiansen took charge, with early season signs of promotion to the Premier League, as they now occupy the last play-off spot.

One man who's been pivotal to the position that the club currently find themselves in is Swedish defender Pontus Jansson.

The 26-year-old has been their star man this season, with some incredible performances along the way making him out to be one of the Championship's best defender's.

Indeed, after only letting in 4 goals in the 6 matches during the festive period, the Swede's defensive abilities and leadership has been the shining light, in what was a successful December for Leeds United.

The PFA took to posting the news on their Twitter account (@PFA) as they let fans know about Pontus Jansson winning the award.

Following the fan favourite's triumph, Leeds United fans were quick to praise the defender's efforts, as they look overjoyed with him securing the award.
