Benito Carbone has given his thoughts on Sheffield Wednesday and their hunt for promotion with the Owls looking to get back into the Sky Bet Championship.

The men from Hillsborough have had a good season so far and are certainly well in with a chance of making their return to the second tier happen this very season.

Darren Moore has built a talented squad that is getting results, and Owls fans are hopeful that brighter days are on the way in the years ahead.

Owls hero Carbone is also hopeful, with him having this to say via William Hill:

“They’re a club that deserves to be back in the bigger leagues, like the Premier League, and I think they have the ability to achieve that soon.

“I am not always able to watch their matches, but I like to see the highlights and how the team is performing. They look a lot more confident now in how they are executing their game plans and there seems to be a sense of belief in their methods.

“The manager has done an excellent job so far. The club have been waiting for a few months, and in the last two or three games are now in the automatic promotion places.

“The side are playing with a lot of confidence now, and they’re displaying it with more frequency. I’m impressed with their progress and hope to watch them in the Premier League soon!”

The Verdict

Wednesday have gone at a brilliant pace so far this season in the third tier with them Plymouth and Ipswich really coming out of the blocks fast and keeping that pace up in the months since.

The Owls will be hoping for a top two finish with that start in mind, but winning the title will also be something they're aiming for with Plymouth only just in front of them.
