With Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion's promotion to the Premier League all but sealed, Rafa Benitez and Chris Hughton have proved to be two of the best managers outside of the Premier League.

Although the two teams have almost achieved the collective goal of automatic promotion, the two managers have had to take different routes to achieve it.

Over the past three seasons, Brighton & Hove Albion have undergone a transformation under Chris Hughton which has seen the Seagulls turn from a relegation side to a promotion side.

Whereas, Rafa Benitez has had to help his side transition and adapt to the Championship. Regardless of the resources, it is a difficult task to master which both Aston Villa and Norwich City have proven.

As both Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion are on the brink of promotion, Rafa Benitez and Chris Hughton have proved over the course of the season that they are some of the best managers in English football.
