An injury-ravaged season limited young Newcastle midfielder Rolando Aarons’ involvement in his side’s title-winning campaign, but with the youngster nearing full fitness, first team football will be vital if they player if to continue his development.

Rafa Benitez is set to spend big this summer following the Magpies promotion to the Premier League, and chances may be limited for the Jamaican-born 21-year-old next season.

After injury limited Aarons’ to just 4 league appearances, a season on loan in the Championship may be the next logical step in the player’s growth.

If Aarons is available, a number of suitors will emerge, but Nottingham Forest should attempt to lead the way and secure the youngster's services on a season-long loan.

The former double European Cup winners narrowly avoided relegation to League One last season after a final day victory over Ipswich, and boss Mark Warburton must strengthen this summer if a repeat is to be avoided.

Aarons -  £850k-rated on Transfermarkt - is an extremely pacey, creative young talent, and has the potential to form a deadly partnership with forward Britt Assombalonga.

Forest already have a number of young stars in their squad including Zach Clough and Ben Brereton, and the addition of Aarons would complement these flourishing talents.

Aarons needs game time and Warburton needs quality, so this loan move would work well for all parties.
