Stoke City defender Ben Wilmot has taken to Twitter to reflect on his side's latest display in the Championship.

The Potters managed to deliver the perfect response to their recent defeat to Derby County by picking up all three points in their clash with Hull City on Saturday at the bet365 Stadium.

Mario Vrancic opened the scoring for the Potters in the 35th minute of the clash as he fired past Tigers goalkeeper Matt Ingram.

Following the break, Nick Powell doubled his side's advantage in spectacular fashion as he managed to find the back of the net from 35-yards as his free-kick nestled into the top corner.

As a result of this triumph, Stoke managed to extend their unbeaten run at the bet365 Stadium to seven games in all competitions.

Set to face Preston North End tomorrow, the Potters will be determined to deliver an impressive performance at Deepdale.

Stoke could potentially climb into the automatic promotion places in the Championship if they beat the Lilywhites.

After helping his side return to winning ways by featuring against Hull, Wilmot reflected on the club's performance on Twitter.

The defender posted: "2 goals, 3 points, clean sheet."

The Verdict

Having made a promising start to the 2021/22 Championship campaign, it will be intriguing to see whether Stoke will be able to launch a push for promotion in the coming months.

Potters manager Michael O'Neill will be hoping that Wilmot will be able to maintain his consistency at this level during the current term.

The defender managed to deliver an impressive performance against Hull as he helped his side keep a clean-sheet by making four tackles as he recorded a WhoScored match rating of 7.10.

If Wilmot continues to make considerable strides in terms of his development under the guidance of O'Neill, it wouldn't be at all surprising if he ends up playing a pivotal role for Stoke as they look to achieve a great deal of success at this level.
