Burnley are preparing for life back in the Championship, with a new manager and a huge squad refresh after a drop down in divisions.

Gone are some of the club's mainstays over the last six seasons like Ben Mee and now they're left needing to try and bring in some replacements and some faces that can help get the Clarets near the top of the league and towards promotion.

Now led by Vincent Kompany too, who is trying his luck for the first time at management in England, they look like they could be contenders in the next campaign based on some of their business so far.

The summer though has only just begun - and there are still plenty of transfer rumours swirling around.

Burnley plotting bid for Rotherham midfielder

Burnley are keen to try and bring in a midfielder this summer and one name that has emerged as a target is Ben Wiles at Rotherham, as reported by Lancs Live.

The Clarets are scouring around the EFL and around Europe it seems in pursuit of some potential new recruits and Wiles is one name that has seemingly come on to their radar.

At 23-years-old, he represents a signing for the future as well as the here and now and after a solid campaign for the Millers last time out, he could be given a chance to shine towards the top end of the Championship.

He had 46 league outings last season as he helped Rotherham to promotion and bagged eight goals and six assists along the way to boot. Now, Burnley are ready to swoop in and test the Millers resolve over the player, with the midfielder closing in on the end of his contract with the club.

Clarets set to lose Wout Weghorst to Besiktas within few days

Burnley snapped up Wout Weghorst on a deal back in January but might be about to lose him already, with Besiktas closing in on a deal for the striker as reported by Cumhuriyet in Turkey.

The Clarets added the 29-year-old to their squad to try and help fire them to Premier League safety in the second half of the last campaign but in 20 appearances he could manage only two goals.

Now, he looks set to swap England for Turkey, with the forward likely to complete a transfer 'within 2-3 days' according to the Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi. That will be a blow to Burnley though, who would likely have wanted to see how the striker would have fared in the Championship.

Burnley set to seal deal for Luke McNally

Another player who looks like he could be on the way to Turf Moor this summer is Luke McNally from Oxford, as Vincent Kompany looks to add more options to his backline.

It's a huge move for the defender according to Alan Nixon's Patreon, with the player set to switch leagues from League One to the Championship for a seven-figure fee.

After 30 league outings last season and four goals to boot, he was arguably one of the most underrated in his position in the division and now looks set to give the second tier a go for the first time in his career.

No deal has been confirmed yet but it certainly looks like it is in the advanced stages of the move.
