Fulham midfielder Ben Pringle says he left Rotherham United because he didn't know which direction the club are heading in.

Pringle won't be joining Millwall
Pringle has signed a two-year deal at Fulham

The Millers offered the midfielder a contract to stay on at the club as his deal was set to expire, but he snubbed the offer and decided to move on, where he eventually joined Fulham.

He signed a two year deal with the Whites after being a consistent performer for Rotherham. He can operate down the middle as well as on the left.

The 26-year-old said that looking at the achievements of fellow promotion winners Wolves and Brentford, who both finished in and around the play-off places, he was unsure of where the Millers go from here.

He told Vital Rotherham: 'When I was thinking about leaving one of the things I was looking at was where do they go next?

'Without being funny if they are not breaking their backs to keep myself or Craig Morgan then they need a plan to go out and get the players they want.

'If you look at the two clubs who came up with us, Wolves and Brentford, they both finished near the play-offs and that was because they had a plan and knew what players they wanted.

'At the start of last season the amount of players who came to Rotherham was unbelievable, although towards the end of the season they did get a settled side.

'Hopefully it will be different this time but unless they invest heavily or they have a plan I don't know, I really don't know.

'I hope they stay up and do well but, to be honest, I really don`t know but I will always look out for their result and talk to the lads regularly.'

Fulham have began the overhaul of their squad this summer as they prepare to do far better than their 17th place finished last year.
