Wolverhampton Wanderers are enjoying an excellent season, and it appears Nuno Santo’s men are destined for a Premier League return this summer.

The side assembled by the former Porto boss appears unstoppable, and it would take a monumental collapse for this talented pool of players to throw away the lead they have established in the first half of the season.

Santo will look to the January window to put the final touches to his squad, with faces expected to come and go in the new year.

Winger Ben Marshall could be on the way out after falling out of favour, and these three men could be targeted to replace the wide man…

Diogo Jota

I have to start with the best possible winter target for the club.

Jota is on loan from Atletico Madrid, but Santo simply must make this deal a permanent one when the window opens for business.

The Portuguese winger is a sensation, and will certainly retain his place in the starting line-up if and when Wolves are promoted to the Premier League this season.

The 21-year-old is enjoying life in the Black Country, and should he be keen to make his switch permanent, Santo should reward his fine form with the offer of a permanent deal.

Jarrod Bowen

A young English winger with bags of talent, do not be surprised to see the Hull City man emerge as a target for Santo in the new year.

The Tigers are struggling towards the foot of the table, yet the soon-to-be 21-year-old has excelled at the KCOM, and has already amassed a staggering ten goals from the wide position.

Joining from non-league Hereford in 2014, Bowen’s progress has been exceptional, and it appears the youngster is destined to one day play in the Premier League.

Santo will be keen to add more goals to the wide positions should injuries strike, and Bowen is the ideal candidate.

Zakaria Labyad

Labyad was a top talent as a youngster at PSV Eindhoven, with his form earning the player a move to Portuguese giants, Sporting Lisbon.

Things didn’t quite work out in Iberia, and Labyad signed for FC Utrecht in January following a short loan spell with Fulham the year before.

Since returning to Holland, the winger has been sensational, and seven goals and five assists so far this season has helped propel his new side up the Eredivisie table.

The Dutch top-flight is similar to the Premier League in many ways, with a fast-paced game matched with intense physicality, so the player of Moroccan descent could adapt to life at Wolves.

Utrecht will want a significant fee for the player, but do no possess the ability to demand the type of fee their wealthier Dutch rivals can.

Labyad would prove a good investment for an affordable fee.
