Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury, Aitor Karanka has revealed.
The defender was forced off in the first minute of the first game of the season against Birmingham on Saturday and Karanka has confirmed that the young defender is set for a spell on the side lines.
Karanka told the Gazette, “He will be out for between two and four weeks, it is his hamstring. However, I am not too concerned as I have other players to play.
Kenneth Omeruo made his second debut for the club, replacing Gibson after joining on loan from Chelsea last week.
“Omeruo now looks a better player and an experienced player. For him to play at the World Cup gave him a lot of confidence and I didn’t have any doubts about bringing him in on loan, as I know him very well.
