It feels like every couple of months, a takeover story involving Leeds United will emerge, with the links to Qatari Sports Investment refusing to lie low for too long.

Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani is close with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who also represents the QSI group.

With the football season on hold due to the outbreak of coronavirus, various stories have emerged, with Radrizzani moving to discuss QSI talk with Gianluca Di Marzio.

“These are rumours that have been ongoing for more than a year now,” Radrizzani said. “What is true is that we have a great relationship on a personal level.

“There’s a desire to do something together maybe even in football but there’s nothing concrete at this time.

“In the last few weeks everything took a back seat. My desire to have a great Leeds that is a protagonist in the Premier League and to do so we will need partners on top of the San Francisco 49ers, we’ll evaluate this when we are in that league.”

It remains to be seen what happens in terms of the takeover if Leeds get to the Premier League, as Radrizzani states, he will evaluate when, or if, the club eventually gets there.

It’s a topic of real discussion amongst the Leeds fans, with obvious excitement sure to great any mega investment.

Yet, the reaction to this Radrizzani update was mixed, with Leeds fans carrying a case of ‘here we go again’.
