The end of the season can't come soon enough for Ipswich Town fans, who had to witness their team fall to another crushing loss to a relegation-threatened team.

A week ago it was AFC Wimbledon who put the Tractor Boys to the sword at Plough Lane with a 3-0 victory, and this week it was the turn of Northampton Town to punish the Suffolk side and surely end their play-off hopes.

There were some positives to take from Saturday's goalless draw with Charlton, but they soon dissipated after a first half brace at Sixfields last night from Cobblers right-back Peter Kioso.

Managing just one shot on target in the whole 90 minutes, Ipswich's misery was compounded late on when Ryan Watson netted a third goal for Northampton, condemning Paul Cook's side to a humiliating defeat and a fifth scoreless game in a row.

Cook was furious after the Wimbledon debacle last week and revealed he would be the 'demolition man' after the season was done as he looks to have a full rebuild of the squad, and as you can imagine he wasn't happy with what he saw last night either.

The manager revealed his thoughts on the performance were 'best kept to himself' but that he would take the criticism for the result and that he would not be criticising the players publically.

From the social media reaction to Cook's thoughts, it's clear to see that the Ipswich fans are behind him leading a summer revolution and that the players are fully to blame for recent performances.
