Charlton Athletic's Alfie Doughty is reportedly set to be out until January due to injury.

According to the Daily Record, Doughty is set for four months on the sideline due to a hamstring injury.

The promising 20-year-old is understood to be on Celtic's radar and with a January move possible due to his expiring contract, Doughty may not feature again for the Valley outfit.

So, will we see Doughty again in Charlton shirt?

We asked our FLW writers just that...

A lot can happen in football, but it does appear to me like Doughty will eventually make the move to Celtic.

Whether it’s the last we’ve seen of him in a Charlton shirt, I wouldn’t like to say, but before long I think we will see him in the green and white hoops.

And, if I’m honest, who can really deny him that. It’s a massive, massive move that could really shape Doughty’s career up nicely.

That’s no disrespect to Charlton, who are a big club in their own right, but this is one of British football’s giants.

The opportunity is too good to consistently turn down.

It's a strong possibility.

It's pretty evident just how much Celtic are keen on Doughty, considering the several bids that they had rebuffed in the summer transfer window.

For Charlton, they're in a weak position here with his contract running out in the summer, Celtic are certainly in the driving seat here to secure a deal in January at a fraction of the cost.

Doughty is a real talent and has serious room to grow and develop considering his young age, and it's clear to see why Celtic are so keen on the player.

The injury news is bleak for Charlton on Doughty, and it's a situation that could mean he does not play for the Addicks again, if Celtic pursue him aggressively in January.

In an ideal world, Charlton would love to secure him to a new contract as soon as possible, but you just get the feeling Doughty may have his head turned here with interest from the Scottish giants.

It does look like it's possible.

Celtic do seem to be interested in Doughty, and the rules around pre-contract agreements means it is a deal they ought to easily be able to afford in January.

Given the opportunity to compete for trophies and in European football a move to Celtic would give him, you also imagine this would be an appealing move for Doughty, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see it happen.

As a result, with Doughty now out until January through injury, it does seem as though there is a chance he has played his last game for the club, which would be a sad way for him to end his Addicks career, although this may be a chance with Celtic he cannot afford to miss.
