‘Becoming a joke club’ – Plenty of Birmingham City fans react to latest transfer update

Birmingham City boss Pep Clotet has touched on his January transfer plans during a recent press conference ahead of this weekend’s Championship action.

The Blues have struggled up until now to build a run of consistency and the January window had brought hope that a number of new arrivals would come through the St Andrews door.

No movements have been made yet with Birmingham attempting to move away from the relegation zone in the Championship table, and focus on results.

Whilst no players have arrived at the Midlands club, one exit has emerged with Agus Medina leaving for UE Cornella.

The lack of movement in the window does raise eyebrows and it is a cause for concern for Clotet, who has a limited strike force with just Lukas Jutkiewicz and Alvaro Gimenez recognised front men.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday afternoon, Clotet said as cited by journalist Brian Dick via Twitter:

Clotet was speaking ahead of his side’s upcoming league fixture with Cardiff City on Saturday; a game which is a must-win for the Blues who sit 18th in the league table.
