Nottingham Forest striker Lewis Grabban has been pictured in high spirits ahead of their pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad, leaving many fans of the club excited.

The 31-year-old was the Reds' leading scorer in 2018/19, finding the net 17 times in his debut season at the club.

In his column in the Nottingham Post, Forest legend Kenny Burns suggested that the forward looked unhappy and that the club should consider cashing in on him this summer.

The club have been quick to provide an indirect response to Burns’ comments, posting a photo of Grabban “all smiles” to the official Twitter account.

Forest face Real Sociedad at the City Ground today, with a tie against Lincoln City on Monday their only other pre-season game before the start of the 2019/20 Championship campaign.

The Reds welcome West Bromwich Albion on the 3rd of August, in what will be new boss Sabri Lamouchi’s first game as manager.

Six new players have arrived at the club this summer but the Frenchman is yet to bolster his striking options.

Grabban was integral for Forest last season but he does not have a particularly stable history, having played for five different clubs in the last six years and left Sunderland in a questionable manner.

The City Ground faithful do not seem worried, though, and many of them were quick to provide encouragement to the striker.
