Hull City have signed Barnsley forward Mallik Wilks on loan until the end of the season, which has excited many Tigers fans.

After arriving at Oakwell from Leeds United in the summer, Wilks had fallen out of favour under new boss Gerhard Struber–not featuring since early November.

Hull have made the most of that situation and swooped for the 21-year-old, who has joined on loan until the end of the season.

The Tigers have the option of making the deal for Wilks permanent in the summer.

Wilks has underwhelmed at Barnsley but Grant McCann will be hoping he can help him recapture the form he showed at Doncaster Rovers last season.

Under McCann's management, Wilks scored 16 goals and provided 12 assists for Rovers in the 2018/19 campaign.

The Tigers had an impressive festive period, winning three of their four games between the 21st of December and the 1st of January–a run that has helped them move close to the top six.

If McCann can get him firing, Wilks could be a useful weapon for Hull as they push for the play-offs in the second half of the season.
