Everton midfielder Joe Williams is on Paul Heckingbottom's Leeds United transfer target list, according to The Sun's Alan Nixon.

The midfielder has been on loan at Hecky's former club Barnsley this season, and is now being touted as a key target for Hecky at his new club Leeds.

Would this be a good signing for the Whites?

He's worth a look.

Williams has done well on loan at Barnsley and it might be too soon for him to break into Everton's first team.

He's great on the ball and won't shirk physical games so Leeds fans would at least buy into that. They've got a lot of options in his role already though.

Williams has had a decent spell with Barnsley across the Championship, and it is understandable that Heckingbottom wants to link back up with players he has worked with previously.

I’d be cautious about bringing a player like Williams in, as I’m not too sure the 21-year-old would bring much more than Leeds’ current options.

You have to trust Heckingbottom on this.

He has worked with Williams at Barnsley so clearly rates the player.

Central midfield is an area they badly need to strengthen so it's good that they're lining players up.

Gary Hutchinson

Be careful Hecky, that would be my advice.

Joe Williams has made a good impression at Barnsley as well as having that pedigree of an Everton upbringing, but don't bring in too many players from a side that finished lower than Leeds.
