Leeds United defender Barry Douglas has sent a message to his teammates and the club's fans ahead of their play-off semi-final second leg against Derby County.

Marcelo Bielsa's side head into the match at Elland Road with a 1-0 advantage following the first leg at Pride Park and, although Douglas will not be involved, he still sent a message of support.

Douglas has not made an appearance since he suffered a season-ending medial ligament injury back at the start of April but his teammates managed without him on Saturday.

After an uneventful first-half, Leeds took the lead just before the hour mark when Kemar Roofe finished cooly following a pin-point Jack Harrison cross.

The Whites dealt with the Derby pressure well, although needed a bit of luck with a convincing Jayden Bogle penalty shout and when Mateusz Klich appeared to head-butt Fikayo Tomori.

The verdict

Had Leeds gone into the play-offs with form similar to that of their early season then this would seem like a sure thing.

But after losing to the likes Ipswich Town and Wigan Athletic in recent weeks, you never know what to expect from them.

However, keeping spirits high like Douglas is doing here will be crucial.
