Blackburn Rovers’ impressive unbeaten run came to an end last night, as Tony Mowbray’s side lost 1-0 to Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Blackburn came into this one embarking on an unbeaten run of seven league games, with Mowbray’s side creeping into top-six contention.
Rovers ended up falling to only their sixth defeat of the season, though, in what was a frustrating evening in Bristol.
Famara Diedhiou was in the right place at the right time to convert from close-range following a knock-down, securing a vital three points for the hosts.
The result leaves Blackburn sitting 10th in the Sky Bet Championship table, five points off the play-off places heading into this weekend’s clash with Norwich City.
Nevertheless, it had been an impressive unbeaten run, and Barry Douglas is keen to put the defeat behind them.
Taking to Twitter after the game, he labelled it a “tough night at the office”.

They had to lose at some point, but last night will have been hard to take for Blackburn.
They looked the better team for large parts of the contest, but you’d expect them to defend better for City’s goal.
They struggled to cope with a long ball into the box, and Diedhiou was allowed to turn far too easily and find the net from close-range.
Norwich will be a tough test, but it’s all about bouncing back and going on another run now.
