Barry Bannan sends message to Josh Windass as Sheffield Wednesday star edges closer to action

Josh Windass is closing in on a Sheffield Wednesday playing return at long last after missing much of this season so far through injury, and it appears as though Barry Bannan is among the players pleased about that.

Windass was one of the few members of the Owls’ squad last season that perhaps came out of their relegation with some credit and the club was certainly pleased to keep hold of him in the summer transfer window despite him being linked away.

Injury, though, has stopped him from having much of an impact in Sky Bet League One so far this year but, pleasingly for Darren Moore and co. he now appears close to a playing return with him back in training.

Indeed, he put this up on Instagram with him back out on the grass and teammate Bannan was among those to express his delight at seeing that exact image:

Wednesday are going along nicely at the moment with a good unbeaten record currently intact and they face Gillingham this weekend surely with spirits up.

Windass is going to be a positive influence on matches when he is fully fit, too, so it’s obvious why Bannan is pleased.
