Barnsley boss Danny Wilson has admitted that the Tykes are willing to sell Chris O'Grady, Martin Cranie and Tom Kennedy, reports BBC Radio Sheffield.

The Oakwell club were relegated from the SkyBet Championship last season and are looking to cut costs ahead of the new league season.

Since they dropped into SkyBet League One, 18 players have left the club and that number could be set to increase to 21 in the next few weeks. Wilson has only managed to bring in three new players to replace the exodus: goalkeeper Adam Davies, midfielder Conor Hourihane and striker Kane Hemmings.

O'Grady was the top scorer for the Tykes last season, notching 15 in 40 appearances after a successful loan spell in the previous season. A number of clubs in the Championship and League One are understood to have made bids for the former Rochdale and Sheffield Wednesday striker. Sheffield United are the latest club to be linked to the target-man with Charlton and Millwall having previously held talks with the 28 year-old.

Cranie joined Barnsley in August of 2012 after being released by Coventry City following their relegation to League One. Cranie has made 71 league appearances for the Tykes in a number of positions from centre-back, right-back and even in midfield. Despite being a player who has been relegated twice from the Championship, Cranie is very highly-rated in the second-tier, however no firm enquiries are understood to have been made.

Kennedy has made 68 appearances for the Yorkshire side since being in Keith Hill's final months in charge at Oakwell. He was a key performer in the Tykes' successful battle against relegation under David Flitcroft and continued to feature during Wilson's tenure. Again, there is no firm interest, but Barnsley are keen to get him off the wage bill.

Wilson recently admitted to the local press that he wanted to sign a maximum of 10 new players for the coming season but finances may restrict him to only four or five. It is thought that the Barnsley manager is looking to raise the funds from the sale of these three players to free up cash in his budget for new additions.

Meanwhile, former Brighton striker Will Hoskins is thought to be close to signing for the club. With the current first-team at Oakwell operating at 13 recognised first-team players, Barnsley are in desperate need of new additions.
