Nottingham Forest secured an invaluable three points against Brentford at Griffin Park on Saturday and their 4-3 success will have undoubtedly shocked some supporters.

The Reds defeated the Bees for the first time in ten years at the weekend, handing Mark Warburton a victorious return to West London and offered Forest fans an injection of optimism.

The 2017/18 campaign should be one of improvement on the last five miserable years but if the Reds keep securing results like Saturday it seems natural that the level of ambition will indeed be raised.

The Championship is a marathon and not a sprint of course and Forest will be hoping for three more important points when they travel to South Yorkshire to face Barnsley on Tuesday evening.

The Tykes are pointless after a couple of games and Warburton’s men will travel to Oakwell brimming with confidence.

Football League World writer Lee Clarke looks at two players who could be the match winners for Forest on Tuesday night.

Andreas Bouchalakis

The Greek midfielder scored two sublime goals in Saturday 4-3 win and having put in such a quality performance he should keep his place in the Forest midfield tomorrow night.

The 24-year-old looks like the complete midfield man and his presence ensures that Forest have a player capable of scoring goals out of nothing.

Barnsley will have on their guard to thwart the midfielder, whilst Reds fans will be hoping he can pull another rabbit out of the hat.

Kieran Dowell

The Everton youngster signed for Forest on loan during the summer and looks to possess real quality.

Dowell opened his account for Forest during Saturday’s win and having started the first two games on the bench he looks certain to start a game sooner rather than later.

The 19-year-old looks a really shrewd signing from Warburton and he looks set to be a big player for Forest this season.

Nottingham Forest fans, do you see either of these two being matchwinners tomorrow evening? Who else could be on the mark? Let us know in the comments below!!!
