Barnsley are fighting to keep hold of Kieffer Moore this summer, with Sky Bet Championship clubs in pursuit of the striker.

According to Andy Giddings from BBC Sheffield, Barnsley have rejected two six-figure bids for Moore from unnamed Championship clubs, with further interest in the striker expected this summer.

Barnsley are currently preparing for life back in League One under Daniel Stendel, following the 44-year-old’s appointment after relegation last season.

Stendel could be facing up to life in League One without Moore, however, who is attracting interest.

The Tykes only signed Moore back in January, paying an undisclosed fee to lure the striker out of Ipswich Town.

The 25-year-old agreed a contract until 2021 at Oakwell.

During Moore’s time with Barnsley so far he has made 20 appearances and scored four goals for the Tykes.

His previous spell in League One, which came with Rotherham United during the first-half of last season, saw him score 13 league goals in 22 appearances.

The Verdict

Last year was tough for Barnsley, who eventually saw their two-year stay in the Championship brought to an end.

Daniel Stendel will be looking to rebuild at Oakwell, but interest in Moore will prove to be a distraction.

With further bids for the 25-year-old on the horizon, Barnsley’s ambition will really be tested.

Keeping hold of the striker this summer will give Stendel a great chance of building at Oakwell, with promotion surely Barnsley’s aim this year.
