According to The Sheffield Star, Marley Watkins would be “disappointed” if Barnsley did not make the play-offs.
Barnsley are currently 9th with 13 games to play and they would need to make up the nine point difference between themselves and sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday to stand a chance of making the top six.
But Marley Watkins maintains that a play-off finish is the aim for Barnsley.
“I’d be disappointed not to make the play-offs, but that’s my opinion.
“It’s the opportunity of a lifetime so we should be aiming for it.
“I don’t think there’s anything to fear in this league.
“I think we’re better than we think we are.”
Watkins has struck six goals this season and handed in a transfer request in January amid interest from the Premier League.
However, the winger insists that he is happy to stay at Barnsley, adding:
“The dream is to be in the Premier League but with Barnsley.”
