Aidy White has signed a one-year deal with Barnsley, the clubs official website has confirmed.
The diminutive left sided midfielder, who can also play as a left back, has signed a deal with the Tykes following a short spell with them last season when he joined in January on a contract until the end of the season.
White has spent time with Leeds United and Rotherham United in the past, and becomes the first signing for the Tykes since Paul Heckingbottom was confirmed as manager last week.
The Reds had a great season last term, winning both the Johnstones Paint Trophy and the League One play off final after being bottom of the table in November.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom managed the team in a caretaker role, taking over from Lee Johnson and working wonders on a relatively zero budget, utilising the loan market and non league market to equally good effect.
He will be hoping White is the first of many signings to come over the summer, as he prepares his team for what is sure to be a struggle against relegation.
