Barnsley must match £750k asking price if they are to land League 1 star

Blackpool have slapped a £750,000 price tag on star man Brad Potts amid major interest from Barnsley, HITC Sport is reporting.

Brad Potts was one of Blackpool’s top performers last season as the Tangerines won promotion to League One via the play-offs.

The energetic box-to-box midfielder netted the opener in Blackpool’s 2-1 victory over Exeter City at Wembley in the League Two play-off final.

They are very keen to keep their star man despite constant pressure from Barnsley.

The Tykes are hoping that Brad Potts can fill the void left by Josh Scowen in central midfield and have been trying to prise him away for a while.

Blackpool have now demanded that they will not sell the 23-year-old for anything less than £750k.

The former Carlisle United midfielder can also play on the wing or as a centre-back and this is another appeal to Barnsley, who are looking to strengthen across the pitch and add strength in depth.

Brad Potts was one of the best midfielders in the fourth tier last season.

The former England under-19 international weighed in with a very impressive tally of thirteen goals and twelve assists, which has caught the eye of some Championship clubs.

Barnsley have previously seen a £500k bid rejected but it remains to be seen whether they will return with a new and improved offer and match Blackpool’s demands.

Blackpool fans – is £750k a fair price for Potts?

Barnsley fans – would you match this price?
