According to The Sheffield Star, Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom wants to bring four more new faces through the door at Oakwell.

Before the end of the summer transfer window, Paul Heckingbottom is eyeing four more additions and has a list of his four targets already drawn up.

Barnsley have already been busy in this summer transfer window as they look to rebuild their squad once again following a number of high profile departures.

Marc Roberts left to join Birmingham City while Marley Watkins and Josh Scowen left on free transfers and have since joined Norwich City and Queens Park Rangers respectively.

With some key exits, the Tykes have brought in a number of players.

Ike Ugbo (Chelsea) and Joe Williams (Everton) have joined on loan while a further eight players have been snapped up on permanent deals.

Liam Lindsay (Partick Thistle), Cameron McGeehan (Luton Town), Zeki Fryers (Crystal Palace), Jason McCarthy (Southampton), Stevie Mallan (St Mirren), Ethan Pinnock (Forest Green), Ben Williams (Blackburn Rovers) and Lloyd Isgrove (Southampton) are the new arrivals at Oakwell.

However, Heckingbottom is not quite finished yet and he has four more targets on his summer wishlist that he is hoping to bring in.

The Barnsley boss has revealed that he wants to complete these captures before the opening game of the season so that he time to work with them.

The Verdict

Barnsley, under the guidance of Heckingbottom, have done a very impressive job of rebuilding their squad.

Since winning promotion to the Championship, they have lost Alfie Mawson, Marc Roberts, Conor Hourihane, James Bree, Marley Watkins, Sam Winnall and Josh Scowen.

To lose all of your best players like that is quite devastating but Barnsley fans must trust Heckingbottom's judgement with these new arrivals because of his previous track record.
