Mads Anderson has stated that he 'doesn't know much' about his side's next opponents as they prepare to face Leeds United on Sunday.

The 21-year-old has featured in every Championship game of the season so far for the Reds, and will be hoping that he can continue that against Yorkshire rivals Leeds this weekend.

Barnsley haven't had the best of starts, and sit just one place above the relegation zone. However, they did find victory against one of the favourites for promotion, Fulham, on the opening day of the season.

Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Anderson said: "I don’t know that much about Leeds.

“It’s a derby so there will be a lot of people coming to support us - I am really excited. It will be a crazy atmosphere and a good experience. We will do everything we can to win.

“I have played a derby in Denmark for Brondby against Copenhagen. It was only a training match but there were a lot of fans there.

"In this league we can win every game or lose every game but our mentality is to win. It would be perfect to beat them in a derby and it’s what we need."

The Verdict

It's quite interesting that Anderson hasn't heard much about Leeds, he clearly has been made known how big this game is for both sides, as he states many a time about the fact it's a derby.

Barnsley know a win could really kick-start their stay in the division and help them to push up the league and gain some valuable confidence against one of the favourites for promotion.

Marcelo Bielsa will have a strong side out, and will always be hard to beat, but like Anderson mentioned, in a derby match, strange things can happen and he'll be hoping that he can help this Barnsley side to victory on Sunday.
