According to sources from HITC Sport, a trio of English Football League clubs are interested in Sutton United mifielder Roarie Deacon.

Sutton United prepare to take on League Two outfit Cheltenham Town this weekend in the FA Cup Second Round and scouts are expected to be in attendance to watch Roarie Deacon in action.

League One duo Charlton Athletic and Bristol Rovers are interested in a move for Deacon, as well as Championship club Barnsley.

The talented winger started his career in the youth systems at Arsenal and Sunderland before two years at Stevenage.

After a year at Crawley Town, he decided to drop down into non-league and join Sutton United of the National League on a one year deal.

He has thoroughly impressed for Sutton so far with four goals and eleven assists as well as picking up six man of the match awards.

The former England under-19 midfielder impressed in the FA Cup First Round victory over Dartford where he scored twice and assisted four of Sutton’s goals in a 6-3 win.

The 25-year-old could be sold in January so that Sutton avoid losing him for free in the summer and his pace, skill and ability to use both feet make him a desirable asset for a Football League club.

Charlton view Deacon as a potential replacement for Ademola Lookman, who looks set to leave the club in January.
