Barnsley want to sign Blackpool midfielder Brad Potts, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.
The Reds are active in the market once again this summer, and have already signed four new players in what has been a busy few weeks for manager Paul Heckingbottom.
And now it appears that the Yorkshire club want to sign another player from the league below, with Potts seemingly fitting the mould of what Heckingbottom wants in his squad.
Potts was in impressive form last season for the seaside club, who won promotion back to League One, scoring six goals and becoming a first team regular. He made his name with Carlisle as a youngster, before his form earned him the move to former Premier League club Blackpool.
The versatile midfielder has one cap for the England under-19 team, and a move to the Championship could well be too tempting for him to turn down if Heckingbottom and the Tykes come knocking.
Barnsley are hoping to build on last season’s success back in the second tier, and the addition of Potts as well as the other players already signed could well propel the club to within touching distance of challenging for the playoffs.
Barnsley fans, what do you think to this? Good signing? Let us know!
