Barnsley have reportedly shown interest in a Rotherham defender shortly after the end of last season.
Semi Ajayi, 25, was relegated with Rotherham last year and according to BBC jounralist Andy Giddings, has had some interest from Barnsley at the beginning of the window.
Giddings tweeted: “Hearing
#barnsleyfc expressed an interest in #rufc defender Semi Ajayi shortly after the end of the season. There hasn’t been a follow up… No further interest has been received for the player at this stage.”

Ajayi played every single match for Rotherham last year in the Championship across a variety of positions. He played the majority of his games at centre-half (23) but also played 13 games at defensive midfield and nine games at centre midfield, according to WhoScored.
He managed to chip in with eight goals across all competitions – the joint most for any Rotherham player.
The London-born player is a Nigerian international and has had five caps for the club since 2018.
Ajayi got some really good experience in the Championship last year, but is still yet to prove himself as an assured Championship standard centre-back.
His versatility makes him a much more attractive prospect, and he also has an eye for goal as his eight goals over the season suggests.
Even if there has been no follow up yet, you can see Ajayi attracting a few more clubs as the window progresses. Barnsley could do with reinforcing their squad with players who have played at this level and Ajayi could be a good fit for them, after starting every one of the 46 last season.
