Barnsley will be one of the early favourites for Championship relegation when the campaign gets going this season, but there's a quiet confidence buzzing around Oakwell pre-season.

The Tykes strolled to a pretty convincing 14th place finish last time out and it was generally one of their better Championship seasons for a while.

But despite their comfortable mid-table finish, there was one player that we thought would shine that little bit brighter and that's striker Tom Bradshaw.

The former Walsall man was a star player for the Saddlers during his time in the Midlands, scoring over 40 goals in two seasons at the Bescot Stadium.

It was a seriously healthy return but in his first campaign in the Championship, he wasn't quite as prolific, as you might expect from a player making the step up for the first time.

He bagged eight goals in 45 appearances last time out but there's plenty of Tykes supporters that believe there's more to come from the Welsh striker.

During his time with Walsall, his movement was terrific and he played on the final shoulder of the last defender with real ease.

Of course, there's going to be some adapting to do as you make your way up the Football League ladder but the Tykes could really do with those goals coming into his game sooner rather than later.

He's shown it during the past that he's capable of leading Walsall's line single-handedly but moving forward, he could do with bringing that to his game this season.

Barnsley will be in need of goals going forward and if Bradshaw steps up and finds his best form, then who knows, we could see the most unlikely of promotion pushes.
