According to Sky Sports, recently promoted Huddersfield are set to return to fellow Yorkshire outfit Barnsley with an improved offer for Ghanaian defender Andy Yiadom.

David Wagner's Premier League new boys have already made a bid worth £1m for the 25-year-old defender, which was turned down.

However, the Terriers have not been put off and are reportedly ready to again test Paul Heckingbottom's resolve regarding a potential deal for the right back, who can also play at left back and on the right of midfield.

Following his arrival from Barnet, Yiadom enjoyed a steady debut campaign at Oakwell last season, making 32 appearances as Heckingbottom's newly promoted Tykes adjusted well to the Championship, following their promotion via the League 1 play-offs at the end of the 2015/16 season.

However, the 25-year-old defender only has a year remaining on his contract with Barnsley, Heckingbottom might feel he needs to cash in on Yiadom this summer, rather than be faced with the prospect of losing the full back for nothing in a year's time.

The report suggests that Wagner is not the only manager with an interest in Yiadom's immediate future.

Swansea manager Paul Clement reportedly has eyes for the Ghanian international, as he hopes to piece together a side capable of avoiding the relegation dogfight, in his first full season at the Liberty Stadium.

Meanwhile, QPR boss Ian Holloway is also keen on bringing Yiadom back down to London, but Heckingbottom is sure to be less likely to be comfortable with the idea of selling to a divisional rival.
