Barnsley and Bolton set to battle for Premier League midfielder

Published

on

Barnsley and Bolton are both keen on the signing of Jay Fulton from Premier League strugglers Swansea City, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side, who sit 19th in the Championship, just two points above the relegation zone, reportedly want to sign the 23-year-old on a permanent deal.

However, Phil Parkinson’s men, who are one place and one point worse off than Barnsley want the Swansea man on loan.

Fulton has only got 17 minutes of Premier League action to his name this season and a January move could be on the cards for him to get game time.

The Verdict

Fulton would be a good addition to either of these two struggling teams who are in need of numbers and quality to try and escape the relegation zone.

If Barnsley are willing to pay up and take him permanently, that may put them in the box seat but Bolton might sneak ahead if he is still part of Swansea’s long-term plans.
