Barnet’s Michael Gash has been named the League Two Player of the Month after some stellar displays in September.
After a career of scoring in non-league football, 29-year old Gash made the move to newly promoted Barnet for a crack at League football under Martin Allen.
Gash has been in superb form so far this season for the Bees, scoring seven goals, and his efforts have been rewarded with the Player of the Month gong.
“I’m obviously very happy to pick up the award. It’s a great honour for me and my family,” said a delighted Gash when presented with his award.
“It’s fantastic to pick up this award in my first Football League season, and after just two months. But it’s not just me. It’s the whole team, the staff, and everyone behind the scenes who have contributed to this award.
Without them, I’m not going to be on the pitch scoring goals. It’s an individual award, but it’s also about the whole team.”
Barnet have had a tough start to life back in the Football League and find themselves sat in 19th after collecting 10 points from their opening 11 games.
They are looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats as they host Accrington Stanley this weekend.
