‘Baller’, ‘Magic’ – Plenty of Reading FC fans are loving one player’s recent display in Nottingham Forest stalemate

Reading were left to rue a number of missed opportunities to pick up three points on Saturday, as they drew 1-1 with struggling Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

It was Chris Hughton’s side that took the lead on the day, as Reading defender Tom Holmes could only turn the ball into his own net after pressure from the onrushing Glenn Murray, after Sammy Ameobi had fired the ball across the penalty area.

Reading went on to earn a point though as Yakou Meite stepped off the substitutes bench to equalise with a neat finish past Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba.

But Lucas Joao and George Puscas spurned good opportunities to give the Royals the lead on the day, and they’ll be eager to get back on the scoresheet in the near future.

Meite was there to rescue a point for the Berkshire-based side though, with the Ivorian international stepping off the substitutes in his first match back in action from an injury lay-off.

Veljko Paunovic’s side remain fifth in the Championship table, and will be eager to pull further clear of their play-off chasing rivals when they return to action on Wednesday evening against relegation-threatened Birmingham City.

Plenty of Reading supporters took to social media to react to Meite’s recent display in the draw with Nottingham Forest.
