Millwall got their 2022 summer transfer business underway over the weekend, with the signing of Zian Flemming.

The attacking midfielder joined the Championship club from Dutch top-flight side Fortuna Sittard, becoming the Lions' record signing in the process.

However, there is still plenty of business to be done by Gary Rowett's side in the window, as they look to improve on their ninth place finish in the second-tier standings from last season.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at all the latest Millwall transfer news to have emerged recently, right here.

Duo complete moves

Having completed the signing of Ballard over the weekend, Millwall moved quickly to further to add to their squad on Tuesday.

Striker Benik Afobe returns to the club after scoring 12 goals in 38 league games while on loan from Stoke last season, and has now completed a permanent move to the Den from the Potters after a move to Club Brugge reportedly collapsed.

Meanwhile, midfielder George Honeyman has joined for an undisclosed fee from Millwall's Championship rivals Hull City, signing a long-term contract at The Den, after reportedly rejecting the offer of a new deal from the Tigers.

Ballard targeted again

It seems there is a chance Afobe will not be the only of Millwall's loanees from the 2021/22 campaign to return to the club this summer.

According to a report from journalist Alan Nixon, the club are also keen to re-sign Arsenal centre back Dan Ballard, after a move to Burnley fell through for the 22-year-old, who could be available on a permanent transfer during this window.

However, the Lions will have competitions for his signature, with fellow Championship sides Sunderland and Blackpool - where Ballard has also had a spell on loan in the past - also credited with an interest in a deal for the defender.

Interest emerges in duo

Two players who could potentially be on their way out of Millwall this summer, are Isaac Olaofe and Alex Mitchell.

Striker Olaofe has spent the last two seasons on loan with Sutton United, while centre back Mitchell enjoyed a temporary spell with Leyton Orient during the 2021/22 campaign, and the pair are both attracting interest once more.

Speaking recently, Millwall boss Gary Rowett admitted that the club have received enquires about loan moves for the duo, but explained that the pair's performances, as well as the state of the squad, will be assessed in pre-season, before a decision is made about where they will spend the 2022/23 season.
